The other day an ex team-member of mine came to see me in the office. During our conversation she recalled the days when she used to get her daily dose of scolding from me for her blunders. Of course, I did not admit that they were scoldings. They were mere ‘guidance’ ! When I told her that now I have been deputed to NIIT University and work with Professors and Academicians, she gaped with awe ! “Imagine Rajib”, she said, “if I rejoin your team- for every mistake of mine you will have to cut a sorry face in front of these Academicians”. I said, “Relax. It will only ask for a small change in the auto-signature of my email. The word ‘Regards’ is to be replaced by ‘Apologies’. That’s all”.
