My wife (at that time we were unmarried) opens a bank account in her maiden name. 

Day 1 : Year 3

Post our marriage, got the account-holder’s surname and address changed. Received a confirmation. 

Day 1 : Year 6

We changed residence. Accordingly, got the records amended in the bank. Received a confirmation. 

Day 1 : Year 7

We applied for a new cheque book. Filled up a form and were told that the cheque book would be sent through courier and reach us within 7 days. We also mentioned our phone no. 

Day 16 : Year 7

Cheque book not received. Upon enquiry it was found that the courier was sent to the first address that was recorded 7 years ago while opening the account !! It promptly came back upon not finding the addressee.
